“We all have the ability to help and connect with others from around the world because even if we don’t have the financial means to donate, all of us have the ability to give up our time.” Ayah-Sofia, Edinburgh University Mercy Corps Student Corps
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Mercy Corps. Volunteers help us maximise our connection with communities around the world, helping us raise vital funds throughout the year. From summer sporting events, office admin to schools volunteers, we couldn't do it without you.
Current Volunteering Opportunities
Our volunteering opportunities vary throughout the year, below are some of the ways in which you may be able to volunteer with us;
Summer Events - Our summer events would simply not be possible without teams of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. They are vital to the success of both the participants and the event. Our volunteers have co-ordinated registration, kept cyclists on the right path, pulled kayaks to the shore of Loch Tay, cheered participants across the finish line and presented them with their medals. We always love to work with our incredible volunteers so please take a look at our current opportunities below:
Tour de Forth - On Sunday 2nd June 2019, hundreds of participants will be cycling 97.3km through the Forth Valley to raise money for Mercy Corps and Cash for Kids. Their success relies on our wonderful team of volunteers - can you join us this year?
Thanks to the support of our volunteers, Tour de Forth had an incredible impact in 2018; raising over £51,000. With an additional route this year, Tour de Forth 2019 is going to be the biggest and best one yet and we need you to make this happen! We are looking for wonderful marshalls to keep our cyclists on the right track, and provide support and all-important refreshments along the way.

Think Global. Act Local
Our volunteering opportunities are based in the UK, primarily in the Edinburgh Area. We do not offer volunteering opportunities overseas, one of our core strengths in global programming is that we hire staff nationally, in the countries where we work. This approach helps the economy of the local region, empowers the local people, and engages the community in bringing positive change.
Occasionally there are opportunities for people to support our international programming through Internships.
