Mervyn Lee, Executive Director, Mercy Corps European Headquarters

Mervyn Lee is the Executive Director of Mercy Corps Europe and a senior member of Mercy Corps’ global leadership team.

Mervyn has extensive experience of global management and has worked in Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Nepal, Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom. He has been involved at board level in international NGOs in India and Nepal for 20 years. His earlier career was in government service. He has held senior appointments at government and diplomatic levels. He is a member of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Microfinance Advisory Board and a member of the Steering Group of the Humanitarian Forum.

Since he took up his appointment in 2006 the European arm of Mercy Corps has grown considerably. The number of funded programmes has doubled and the annual turnover of the business has increased by one hundred and twenty percent. His current global remit includes building the partnerships and alliances between the government sector, the private sector and civil society to develop the business of Mercy Corps India.

Mervyn lives in the Highlands of Scotland, and his interests include golf, fishing and trekking in the Himalayas.
