Our strategy

Promote water savings and efficiency to conserve precious resources. Help meet the immediate needs of vulnerable Syrian refugees.

The context

Critical challenges face the Arab kingdom, which is the fourth water-poorest country in the world. Already scarce and expensive water and energy are now even more strained by the recent influx of Syrian refugees fleeing across the border to host community and camps in Jordan.

Our work

  • Emergency response: Distributing warm clothes and blankets to refugees and winterizing shelters against freezing temperatures
  • Water: Building deep wells and improving systems to increase the water supply to 400,000 refugees and host communities; financing household projects and reservoirs to promote improved conservation
  • Children & Youth: Providing school supplies, activities and safe places for Syrian children to play in refugee camps
