Ross Hornsey raised $0 for Half The Sky

We're reading Half the Sky and raising money for Mercy Corps' One Table campaign, which supports their efforts to fight world hunger by investing in the world's women.

Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide is a new book by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn that tells inspirational stories of women around the world.

The book tells the inspiring stories of brave women who have overcome daunting circumstances to set their lives on a better path. Among them is the Pakistani activist Mukhtar Mai, whose work Mercy Corps has supported for several years.

The One Table Campaign aims to influence government policy, raise awareness and fund programs that support women's roles in strengthening food security in the developing world. The campaign is inspired by Mercy Corps' belief that investing in women is one of the smartest ways to end hunger -- and improve the well-being of entire families. We're calling our campaign One Table because global hunger is a shared problem that demands a collective solution.
