August 19th 2012, 8:30 am — 5:30 pm
Location: Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh

Set alongside Scotland’s scenic River Forth, participants can choose between four different routes, providing something for every cycling enthusiast!

Whether taking on a personal challenge, trying to gain a personal best time, cycling for fun or looking for a leisurely day out cycling with friends and family, there’s something for everyone. Tour de Forth 2012 is for leisure cyclists, club cyclists, families, kids, commuters and professional cyclists – of all ages and abilities. Get fit, have an amazing experience, all whilst raising essential funds for Mercy Corps.

All we are asking is for each participant to raise £1 per mile to support Mercy Corps’ incredible and vital work – making every mile you cycle not only a great sense of personal achievement but also a mile of support to help people living in the world’s toughest places turn crises into opportunity. Your support really will go the extra mile.

Launching from Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal, participants will each take on a fun and fulfilling challenge with the assurance that they are being carefully looked after and supported throughout the day.

Tour de Forth Sportive For cyclists looking to get the best time they can – a timed option taking you 70 miles around Scotland’s beautiful River Forth, starting and finishing at Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal.

Demi Tour de Forth A half route for those who prefer a 35 mile challenge – with the option to cycle from Kincardine to Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal, or from Ocean Terminal to Kincardine.

The Family Ride A day event for all ages and abilities – a leisurely ride from Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal to the beautiful Craigies Farm in South Queensferry, stopping for strawberries and cream and family friendly activities, before heading back to Ocean Terminal, 22 miles in total.

VOLUNTEER at the Tour de Forth!

If you love the great outdoors and are free on Sunday 19th August 2012, then Mercy Corps have just the thing for you…

As a volunteer you would need to be available on all day Sunday 19th August to help the event run smoothly. There are a number of vital tasks we need your help with - registration, helping participants en-route, handing out food and supplies, and last but by no means least, providing needed support and encouragement to keep participants spirits up! All in all it’s a great way to spend a weekend where you can meet new friends, have lots of fun and know that you’re helping make a lasting difference to people’s lives.
