OVERVIEW

Mercy Corps continues to meet the immediate needs of Lebanese families affected by last summer's Israel-Hezbollah war and to lay the groundwork for recovery.

Our programs are focused largely on rural and agricultural development, environmental protection, and community-based economic development and infrastructure repair activities, while helping the people of Lebanon envision the positive, lasting change that they want to see in their communities and then realize their shared vision.

In job-starved south Lebanon, veteran climber Mohammed has found work leading tours up historic Mount Hermon - the same mountain he regularly ascended alone on muleback.
