OVERVIEW Mercy Corps continues to meet the immediate needs of Lebanese families affected by last summer's Israel-Hezbollah war and to lay the groundwork for recovery. Conflict Recovery > Our programs are focused largely on rural and agricultural development, environmental protection, and community-based economic development and infrastructure repair activities, while helping the people of Lebanon envision the positive, lasting change that they want to see in their communities and then realize their shared vision. Overall Program Details >	In job-starved south Lebanon, veteran climber Mohammed has found work leading tours up historic Mount Hermon - the same mountain he regularly ascended alone on muleback.

Tasting Newfound Success

Sheikh Mahmoud Derbieh is one of several olive farmers receiving support from Mercy Corps to improve his oil and to start his own label — changes that have translated into higher sales.

Making Movies

Nine teens used a Mercy Corps filmmaking course to express their needs, aspirations and dreams — part of projects aimed at enhancing youth artistic skills and addressing societal challenges with technology.
