Darjeeling is rightfully known for growing some of the best tea in the world, carefully chosen and picked by thousands of workers like these. However, its lush green mountains are also home to some of Asia's poorest families. They suffer from deplorable sanitary conditions and lack of opportunity. Mercy Corps' Community Health and Advancement for India (CHAI) program, funded by Tazo Tea Company and implemented through local partner DEG, is addressing those issues.
